The history of the left in Berlin is one of origins, courage, power, survival and diversity. This tour will take a tour through the city’s most iconic neighbourhoods and talk about how leftist politicians and politics is a part of each one of them.
From Marx to Luxemburg to contemporary struggles against gentrification and police violence; the left has shaped Berlin for generations and continues to today.
Your guide is Izzy Choksey, who worked as a tour guide in Berlin for 6 years and a member of the Die Linke Berlin Internationals.
Tour starts at 2pm under the Martin Luther Statue next to Alexanderplatz (Karl-Liebknecht Straße 8, near the Fernsehturm). Bring warm clothes as it will be around 3 hours and completely outside.
Event jointly organised by the LINKE Berlin Internationals and Right2TheCity
We will finish with food and drink at our monthly Küfa in Bilgisaray
if you have a travel pass, please bring it with you as some U-Bahn travel will be involved.
