INTA* Pride Berlin 2025

Our Lives, Our Rights, Our Future

27/08/2025

Across Germany and the world, anti-trans laws, hate crimes, and attacks on our human rights are rising. Now, more than ever, we must take to the streets, remain visible, and speak out. Our existence is not up for negotiation. We will not be erased, and we will not allow our rights to be dismantled piece by piece.

We condemn police violence against those demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza and Germany’s complicity in it. We see the rightward shift in German politics as a direct threat to all marginalized groups—a failure to confront history honestly. “Never again” means resisting fascism and dismantling colonial power structures, not repeating the same patterns that have led to genocide before.

The Reality for INTA* in Germany

  • In 2026, the Self-Determination Act will face mandatory review—with real risks of rollbacks.
  • A proposed “special registry” for trans, non-binary, and intersex people threatens privacy, safety, and freedom—echoing dangerous ideas from 1933.
  • Poverty hits us harder: precarious work, housing discrimination, and little state support keep many in survival mode.
  • Medical care is underfunded, understaffed, and inaccessible—with months-long waits, too few specialists, and barriers to hormones and surgeries. Research on INTA* issues are almost nonexistent, except where it reinforces stigma.
  • Violence is rising while shelters and safe spaces are being cut—especially for refugees, queer youth, and unhoused people. The new Violence Protection Act (Feb 2025) excludes us entirely.
  • No adequate infrastructure exists for INTA* people fleeing persecution.
  • Many trans people live in deep social isolation, excluded from family, work, and housing, forced to seek community almost exclusively online.

Against Division & Hate

Even within the queer community, there are forces that try to divide us—from TERF rhetoric to exclusionary campaigns like “Drop the T,” or the sidelining of bisexual, trans, and asexual voices. We need allies both within and beyond our community to defend our rights together.

We believe: only through solidarity and intersectional action can we free ourselves from the violence of this system.

Our Declaration

We are here. We have always been here.

We will not be pushed back into silence, closets, or invisibility. They cannot legislate us out of existence. They cannot register us into submission. They cannot scare us into hiding.

Our liberation is bound together—trans, intersex, non-binary, Black, Brown, migrant, disabled, poor, queer—all of us or none of us.

We will not stop until we all live free, safe, and celebrated in every corner of this world. We are the future they fear—and the future is already here.

Together we win.
