Our demands

Statement by the Linke Berlin LAG Palästinasolidarität on the expulsion of Ramsy Kilani

On 22 November 2025 our comrade, Ramsis Kilani, was definitively expelled from the party Die Linke. We, therefore, occupied the Karl-Liebknecht-Haus together with comrades in solidarity. Here are our demands to the party:

1. Protection for Palestine-solidary voices inside the party

We demand that the party leadership guarantees that comrades in solidarity with Palestine, both within and outside the party, are neither delegitimized nor intimidated through campaigns, rumours, or political manoeuvres. Political differences must be clarified politically – not through ostracism. Jewish comrades, such as those from Jewish Voice for Peace, must also be protected from antisemitic and fanatical pro-Israel campaigns.

2. Re-evaluation of the campaign directed against Ramsis Kilani

We demand that the party leadership critically review the public campaign against Ramsis Kilani, take responsibility for it, and initiate an official discussion regarding the treatment of Palestine-solidary comrades. A public apology to Ramsis Kilani is required for all the hate and agitation he had to endure as a result of the publicly conducted expulsion process.

3. Explanation of the incident involving the cancellation of event venues

We demand a transparent investigation into the short-notice cancellation of the premises booked by our French sister party (La France Insoumise Berlin) on 18 November, as well as a discussion with a member of the party leadership and a representative of Vulkan GmbH.

4. An open debate about Zionism within the party

We demand that the party articulate a clear position and engage honestly and academically with the political ideology of Zionism—its history and its effects on the Palestinian population—and formulate an internationalist stance on this issue.

5. Protection of internal democracy within the party

We demand that the party commit itself to protecting plural positions and refrain from replacing political debates with administrative measures, expulsion procedures, or informal pressure.

6. Recognition of Palestinian perspectives

We demand that Palestinian voices within the party be recognized as a legitimate and indispensable part of our debate for a just peace in the Middle East.
