Evan Bermel was born and raised in San Diego California. Today he is a Bachelor student for politics and law and a member of DIE LINKE Berlin, Linksjugend [Solid’], Deutscher Hanfverband, and the trade union “Ver.di”. For years he was active in the Berlin group of the Deutscher Hanfverband.

Afropunk Carol
Carol van Buren, studied modern languages and linguistics at Cambridge University followed by 2 years working in Brussels before going on to to study law at King’s College London. Carol spent several years working as a commercial lawyer, followed by part time stints as a researcher at the UK Parliament and a lecturer at London University. After the Brexit vote, Carol decided to leave the UK and now lives in Berlin where she works as a freelance legal translator.

Srijon is a student of politics and media at Sciences Po Paris, and a multimedia journalist. Originally from India, he is based in Paris and Berlin.

Rowan Gaudet is a graduate student and activist based in Berlin. He is co-author of the report “Unveiling the Chilly Climate: The Suppression of Speech on Palestine in Canada”.

Tina Andersen Vågenes is an activist and master student in Human Geography at University of Oslo.

Lisa Hallgarten has spent her career working in the field of reproductive rights and justice; and starting and amplifying conversations that challenge abortion stigma. Her grandparents fled Nazi Germany bringing her father to London and she is passionate about the obligation of those who have benefited from migration and asylum to speak out and up for refugees and all victims of oppression.

Allyn Heath has been active in the Deutsche Wohnen & Co Enteignen (DWE) campaign in Wedding and Reinickendorf since 2021. He’s also co-editor of DWe’s forthcoming tabloid magazine Bravo! Enteignen.
