On Sunday, 25th May, The Left Berlin is holding a vegan Küfa to raise money to finance our activities.
Join us for food at Bilgisaray, Oranienstraße 45.
Unfortunately, Asha Vare who was due to speak about Palestinian music is unable to be with us. We are therefore offering a film on discussion on Cricket and Decolonialism.
We will instead be showing the classic documentary film “Fire in Babylon”, a story of the champion West Indies cricket team of the 1970s and 1980s within the context of social upheaval in the Caribbean at that time. The movie screening will be followed by a discussion with Shubham Jain from the Center of Sport and Human Rights, and University of Cambridge.
We will be following this rough timetable.
Küfa: from 5pm
Film screening: 6pm
Discussion: 7.30pm.
If you’d like to help with the cooking, please come a little early. The money raised at the Küfa will be used to finance The Left Berlin activities. We work on 100% voluntary labour and are not funded by any political organisations of NGO. Simply running our website and Newsletter cost money which we must find somewhere. It is events like this which enable us to carry on doing what we do.
